It is very common to feel overwhelmed by big dreams and goals, it might feel like everyone else out there is achieving their dreams whereas you just want to hide under the bed-covers overwhelmed at the thought of all the steps needed to get there! But don’t worry! And certainly don’t give up!! There are various strategies that you can employ to help you work towards your goals. I have included a few tips below but keep a look out for more in-depth future blog posts on different strategies.
The first thing is to break down all your goals into the steps needed to get you there. If you are struggling a good way to do this is to work backwards from your big goal. Once you have broken it down into some steps, go even further, breaking these down into tiny baby steps, for example research different French classes, look at ways you could put aside some money each month or pick up the phone and enquire about tickets.
The next step, and I think this one is the most important of all, and one that I need to remind myself of often is to take action consistently. Try and set aside some time every day, even if it is only 10-20 minutes to do something that takes you a little closer to your goals. Something is better than nothing right? One step at time, but done consistently.
Make a vision board. This is a great way to keep motivated. Look at it every day and visualise yourself achieving your goals and dreams. The more detailed the better!
