Lavender Essential Oil

Kicking off the Essential Oil series is the beloved and most popular of all the essential oils – Lavender essential oil, Lavandula angustifolia.

It is my all time favourite oil, balancing, soothing and restoring.  This fresh, floral mid-note oil relieves fatigue, bolsters in times of anxiety and soothes worries away.

Lavender has been my friend on many occasions – inhaling when I was incredibly sick with my third pregnancy,  in baths in the week following childbirth, and at times of great worry and stress, it has always been there, reassuring and comforting.

High-altitude Lavender is my preferred choice for its superior therapeutic values and its fragrance is divine.  This  higher ester content, boosting its soothing properties.

How to use:

  • for adults add up to 7 drops in a bath
  • in a pillow mist for a sleepy relaxing bed time
  • put a few drops on a hanky and inhale for nausea, travel sickness, faintness or migraine
  • in vaporiser try blending lavender with lemon essential oil and bergamot for a reviving room fragrance

Please always use essential oils with considered care, just because something is natural it does not mean its safe. Always consult with a qualified aromatherapist if unsure especially pregnant women.
