Jojoba oil

Jojoba oil (pronounced ho-ho-ba) Simmondsia chinensis, is technically speaking a wax but looks and acts like an oil. The oil is so like the skin’s own sebum that it is non-comedogenic, in other words it won’t clog your pores and cause outbreaks. You can apply it direct to the skin and, run it through the ends of your hair to strengthen. Jojoba has an outstanding ability to control water loss, one of the primary causes of skin aging. It is regenerating and toning, and can protect and treat conditions of acne. It is one of my favourite lipid oils as it is just so versatile, well worth a try.

Simple cleanser:

Mix together 1 tsp jojoba oil and 1 tsp manuka honey, apply to face and wipe off with a warm damp face cloth or pad.

Face mask:

Mix together some French green clay in jojoba oil, add 1 drop of Frankincense essential oil and apply to face. Leave for 15 minutes before gently removing, orange hydrolat is nice to use to remove the mask.
